DETAILED INFORMATION ABOUT THE FORTNITE CHAMPIONSHIP SERIES (FNCS) 2024

The beginning of the year marks the exciting return of Competitive Fortnite players for another edition of the Fortnite Championship Series (FNCS) in 2024. With a total prize pool of $7,675,000 and three crucial Majors leading up to the epic showdown of the FNCS 2024 Global Championship, which will be held in-person, expectations are sky-high. Throughout this year, more information about the in-person Championship of 2024 will be revealed.

While the Duos format remains, some specific changes have been implemented in this year’s tournament structure. Whether you are a newcomer to the competition or making a comeback, check out the exciting details of FNCS 2024 below.

Overview of FNCS 2024

How to Qualify for Majors: Each Major is a Duos competition, similar to the FNCS 2024 Global Championship. To participate in the Majors, you and your Duo must achieve Platinum I Rank or higher in Ranked Battle Royale.

How to Qualify for the FNCS 2024 Global Championship: Qualifying for the FNCS 2024 Global Championship requires your Duo to achieve a prominent position in one of the three Majors of FNCS 2024. The Last Chance Major will not be held in 2024, making it imperative to qualify in one of the three Majors. In Majors 1, 2, and 3, you will compete with other Competitive Fortnite players in your matchmaking region, accumulating Points (Series) based on performance.

Details of the Majors – Open Qualifiers: In the Open Qualifier rounds of a Major, your Duo will have 3 hours to play 10 matches, aiming to earn as many points as possible to advance and qualify for the next round. The number of rounds may vary from three to four, depending on the matchmaking region.

Details of the Majors – Semifinals: Upon qualifying for the Semifinals of a Major, your Duo’s position on the Points Leaderboard (Series) will determine whether you participate in Round 1 of the Lower Semifinals or Round 1 of the Upper Semifinals. The journey includes participating in three Lower or Upper Rounds, depending on the ranking on the leaderboard.

Details of the Majors – Grand Finals: After the Semifinals, the top 50 Duos will compete in the Grand Finals of the Major, where the best will advance to the eagerly awaited Global Championship.

FNCS 2024 Majors Structure: Each Major will span 5 weeks or more, with a break for players to recharge before the Semifinals. All Majors follow the same format, including two Open Qualifiers, the Semifinals, and the Grand Finals, all with an open lobby. Syphon will not be included in the FNCS Majors 2024.

For clarity, the Open Qualifier will be held in four rounds for Duos in the AN – Central or Europe matchmaking region, while for Oceania, Asia, Middle East, or Brazil, it will be three rounds.

Major Open Qualifiers:

AN – Central/UE Round 1: Platinum I Rank or higher Round 2: Top 2,000 teams, Top 1,000 teams Round 3: Top 1,000 teams, Top 250 teams Round 4: Top 250 teams OCE/ASIA/ME/BR Round 1: Platinum I Rank or higher Round 2: Top 2,000 teams, Top 1,000 teams Round 3: Top 1,000 teams, Top 250 teams Round 4: Top 250 teams

Major Semifinals: The Semifinals take place over three days, with Duos participating in the Lower or Upper Semifinals based on their ranking on the Points Leaderboard (Series).

Round 1 of Upper and Lower Semifinals:

For Round 1 of the Upper Semifinals, Duos need to rank between 1st and 50th place on the Leaderboard. The winning Duo of each match advances directly to the Grand Finals. Duos between 6th and 25th place compete in Round 2 of the Upper Semifinals, while teams between 26th and 50th place go to Round 2 of the Lower Semifinals. Round 2 of Upper and Lower Semifinals: Round 2 of the Upper Semifinals consists of five matches with a defined lobby. The winning Duo of each match advances directly to the Grand Finals. Duos between 6th and 25th place compete in Round 3 of the Upper Semifinals. Round 2 of the Lower Semifinals consists of ten matches with an open lobby, and Duos must rank between 1st and 30th place to advance to Round 3 of the Upper Semifinals. Round 3 of Upper and Lower Semifinals: Round 3 of the Upper and Lower Semifinals consists of three matches with a defined lobby. Duos in Round 3 of the Upper Semifinals need to rank between 1st and 25th place to secure a spot in the Grand Finals. Duos in Round 3 of the Lower Semifinals need to rank between 1st and 15th place to advance to the Grand Finals.

Major Grand Finals: The Grand Finals of each Major take place over two days, with players competing in up to six matches per day. The score is accumulated over the two days, with 1.5x points for eliminations. Placements determine qualification for the Global Championship.

Grand Finals – Major 1: EU (1st–2nd), AN – Central (1st), BR (1st), ASIA (1st), ME (1st), OCE (1st). Grand Finals – Major 2: EU (1st–5th), AN – Central (1st–3rd), BR (1st), ASIA (1st), ME (1st), OCE (1st–2nd). Grand Finals – Major 3: EU (1st–10th), AN – Central (1st–10th), BR (1st–3rd), ASIA (1st–3rd), ME (1st–3rd), OCE (1st–2nd).
