Get ready for a new adventure in the world of Fortnite with the launch of Fortnite Reload, an exciting variant of the Battle Royale. This new mode arrives on Saturday, June 22, shortly after 3 PM (BRT), bringing classic weapons and locations along with the engaging atmosphere that you and your squad already know and love.
New Features and Gameplay Mode
In Fortnite Reload, squads have a chance for revival as long as at least one member remains alive in the game. This 40-player experience takes place on a smaller map, featuring iconic locations such as Tilted Towers and Retail Row. The match ends when the entire squad is eliminated, and the last standing team wins, whether in traditional Battle Royale or Zero Build mode.
Strategies and Game Dynamics
Fortnite Reload encourages a more aggressive approach, as reviving squad members is simplified. If the rest of your team is eliminated, the responsibility to secure victory falls on you. Here’s how it works:
- When a squad member is eliminated, their respawn timer starts. They will respawn after this timer ends.
- The timer starts at 30 seconds and increases to 40 seconds as the match progresses.
- Surviving squad members can reduce the respawn timer by stunning enemies (reducing it by 2 seconds), eliminating them (4 seconds), or eliminating an entire enemy squad (10 seconds).
- Downed players can choose to start the respawn timer automatically without waiting to be revived.
- Respawning is disabled towards the end of the match, preventing eliminated members from returning to the game.
Equipment and Weapons
In Fortnite Reload, you’ll find various iconic weapons such as the Tactical Shotgun, Rocket Launcher, Bolt-Action Sniper Rifle, and Lever Action Shotgun. The smaller map does not include drivable vehicles, but it’s filled with unvaulted items like:
- Revolver
- Tactical Shotgun
- Lever Action Shotgun
- Root Heavy Shotgun
- Tactical Submachine Gun
- Infantry Rifle
- Heavy Assault Rifle
- Bolt-Action Sniper Rifle
- Rocket Launcher
- Grappler
Locations and Rewards
Tilted Towers, located at the center of the map, is where the action is most intense. In Fortnite Reload, you can earn Victory Crowns similar to those in Battle Royale and Zero Build. After respawning, you return with a common Assault Rifle and 100 Wood (in the build mode). Eliminated players drop Small Shield Potions, ammo, and building materials.
Additionally, Fortnite Reload offers initial Quests that grant 20,000 XP each. Completing three Quests unlocks the Cyber Invasion Contrail; completing six unlocks the Pool Cubes Wrap; and completing nine Quests earns you the NaNa Bath Back Bling. Secure a Victory Royale to obtain the Pixel Guard Glider, which becomes more robust with each respawn.
