However, the final product did not entirely satisfy the streamer.
TheGrefg’s reaction to his Fortnite skin
In 2021, David Cánovas Martínez, known online as TheGrefg, unveiled his Fortnite skin during a live stream that drew over 2 million simultaneous viewers. Despite the event’s success, fans were disappointed, feeling the skin did not accurately represent the streamer. Since then, TheGrefg has expressed his dissatisfaction and hoped that Epic Games would modify the skin to better resemble him. The topic resurfaced following the recent debut of a skin inspired by El Rubius.
El Rubius’s new Fortnite skin
Rubén Doblas Gundersen, known as El Rubius, revealed his Fortnite skin during a live stream on September 15. The new skin closely mirrors his personal style and appearance. It will be available for purchase on September 25 for 2,400 V-Bucks in the Fortnite store. The skin features a LEGO-style design, additional outfits, and a backpack inspired by his cat, Wilson. El Rubius also announced that sales made with his creator code on the first day will benefit an animal shelter.
TheGrefg’s reaction to El Rubius’s skin
TheGrefg watched the reveal of El Rubius’s skin and took to social media to share his thoughts. Jokingly, he commented that the quality of El Rubius’s skin highlighted a disparity with his own, suggesting that his skin seemed to have been created less carefully: “Two things. Well, just one: it’s confirmed that my skin was made with my paws,” TheGrefg quipped in his video.
Before the reveal event, El Rubius had a video call with TheGrefg, where he admitted that although he had seen previews, he wasn’t sure if the final skin would accurately reflect his face. Fortunately, it did.
