E-Copa: A Journey of Inclusion and Opportunity in eSports

The e-Copa emerges as a landmark event that merges competition, technology, and fun, playing a crucial role in integrating disadvantaged communities into the esports scene. In an exclusive interview granted to Pichau Arena, Matheus Lopes (MH), project coordinator of Favela Gamer, discussed the importance of this initiative for inclusion in eSports.

Inaugurated in 2020, the e-Copa is now in its third edition, being hosted in a Gamer Truck that has traveled to all regions since December 29, culminating in the grand final on February 4. This initiative is the result of a partnership between the São Paulo City Hall and the Paulista Association of Recreation, Sports, and Leisure (APREL).

Paulo Sérgio Fernandes, a member of the Association, highlighted: “The E-Copa event represents a unique opportunity to promote integration among young people through esports, encouraging healthy competition and teamwork.”

The communities served were selected based on contacts provided by the City Hall’s partner NGOs, covering the four regions of the city. Since the beginning of the project, nearly 25 thousand attendances have been registered, illustrating the magnitude of the e-Copa’s impact on these communities.

MH noted: “The children benefited by the e-Copa come from disadvantaged communities. Any kind of event is extremely beneficial for them, contributing to learning, fulfilling dreams, and, most importantly, keeping them away from the streets and occupying their minds.”

“They are from areas often marked by violence, and events like this show that there are viable alternatives, allowing them to connect with other people, explore different regions, and broaden their horizons,” added the spokesperson.

Equipped with immersive experiences, the Gamer Truck featured ten PCs for Fortnite, six complete cockpits for Gran Turismo, and two dance stations for Just Dance. A total of 96 young people advanced to the final in-person phase in the three modalities covered by the project, with four standout young people per community selected and the others classified based on a global ranking.

The final phase took place at the Gamer Complex in São Paulo, where two winners were awarded: Vanderlei Previato Junior, 23, in Just Dance, and Antony Gomes da Silva, 20, in Gran Turismo.

“Although the dream of becoming a professional esports athlete is shared by many young people, the reality for children from peripheral areas is quite different. Initiatives like the e-Copa make all the difference,” commented Antony, a resident of the West Zone of the city.

Thus, the e-Copa São Paulo plays a fundamental role as one of the largest inclusion-promoting events in the city, bringing competition and entertainment to communities while stimulating the promising future of underprivileged youth in eSports.

Noping for Fortnite

Noping offers a crucial advantage for Fortnite players seeking optimized performance. By reducing ping and minimizing connection delays, Noping provides smoother and more responsive gameplay, allowing players to react more quickly to in-game situations. This is especially important in a dynamic game like Fortnite, where every millisecond counts. Additionally, Noping helps avoid sudden disconnections, ensuring more consistent and competitive matches. With these benefits, Fortnite players can enjoy a smoother and more rewarding gaming experience, increasing their chances of success and enjoyment on the virtual battlefield.
